Sen. Cathy Giessel, R-Anchorage, moved an amendment to SB 116 during a hearing on the bill in Senate Labor & Commerce committee to allow individuals to keep their own doctors. The title of SB 116 is “An Act offering mediation of disputed workers’ compensation claims by a hearing officer or other classified employee of the division of workers’ compensation and allowing collective bargaining agreements to supersede certain provisions of the Alaska Workers’ Compensation Act; and providing for an effective date.”
